| Richard commenced his career as an analyst in the late 1980’s. Since then he has advised a number of multinational firms and governments on financial and strategic issues. Richard specializes in doing economic impact analysis, predictive algorithm development, and investment evaluation for governments and large listed companies. |
| After spending some time at Ernst &Young (Sydney), Richard started, and later sold, several companies that operated in various sectors including education, logistics, property and conferencing. |
| Professor Petty has been a faculty member at the University of New South Wales, the University of Sydney, the University of Hong Kong and the Australian Graduate School of Management. He is a member of several Company Boards and is Deputy President of CPA Australia. |
| Richard has published extensively and has presented at more than 100 conferences globally. He also sits on several editorial boards including The International Journal of Accounting Literature, and The Journal of Intellectual Capital. His academic work has appeared a number of journals including The Australian Accounting Review, The Journal of Management Accounting Research, The Journal of Intellectual Capital, and The Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal. |
| Richard is a university medalist. He graduated with first class honours in Accounting and Finance (B.Com, Hons). He holds a Masters degree (with honours) and a PhD. Richard is Fellow of CPA Australia, and also holds the CMA and MFP professional designations. |
